I’ve been writing about mano dura, or “hard fist” security strategies in the region, and thinking about the concept of corruption in the U.S., compared to real life in Latin America.
Is it corrupt to except bribes in a system where going “straight” goes against the grain? Can one be risking one’s life by saying no to graft? Did the U.S legalize “corruption” in its lobbying system, ergo making corruption illegal?
Sound, light and space last night at LUM. A reminder of the vastness of everything, and our insignificance in the scheme of things.
